Helen Roseveare: The Doctor Who Kept Going No Matter What

  • by

This inspiring true story about the life of British missionary Helen Roseveare teaches young children what it looks like to serve God faithfully, even during the most challenging of circumstances.

Helen was a doctor who shared the Gospel in the Congo region in Central Africa during the 1950s and ’60s. Her remarkable story begins with her bold decision on her eighth birthday to “travel the world and tell other boys and girls about Jesus.” The book traces the joys and trials of her journey from medical school to becoming a missionary doctor. During her time in Central Africa, Helen helped build hospitals, trained new doctors and nurses, and taught about Jesus by reading the Bible to many people.

While she was serving in Africa, political uprisings led to violence, and Helen was imprisoned for five months. She relied on God’s peace and found comfort in God’s promises through many dark days. Her humble example teaches children (and adults) how to persevere, even through periods of extreme difficulty.

Helen Roseveare: The Doctor Who Kept Going No Matter What comes in hardcover and is perfect for reading to children ages four to seven. The book will encourage you and your children or grandchildren not only to trust in God while facing serious trials but also to pray by sharing the specific things that Helen prayed for and how God answered her prayers.

Helen Roseveare’s amazing story will teach the children in your life how God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Request your copy when you give a donation to support Truth For Life.
